I met Nana in Australia, she’s a Japanese girl traveling the world, we finished our adventure in Australia together. She took me with her to Japan twice to get to know her culture and meet her family. I discovered without real surprise that Japan was a country of great paradox, with extreme modernity and a very traditional/codified vision of human behavior. You’re ending up with a keyboard connected to your heated toilet seat on which you can play music to hide your intimate noises from others, and on the other side the Onsen (Japanese traditional public bath) where you’re going naked with other men or women. Here technology and tradition go along perfectly, Japan is a beauty of contrast and good manners.
Excellent food, calm, respect and hygiene are the words that best summarize my time in this country.
